Bachelorette Party DIYs: Color Changing Party Cups

February 9, 2021

I am so excited to share this DIY with you! It is definitely one of my favorites so far. I have been wanting to use color changing cups for a party for so long, but I haven’t been able to host one due to Covid.

I’ll share the link to these cups below, but I found them on Amazon, they have a bunch of colors and are relatively affordable. I also got more for my husband’s 30th birthday (article on that coming tomorrow!)

What you’ll need:

–color changing party cups

-holographic adhesive vinyl (or any adhesive vinyl of your choosing)

-transfer tape

–“Bride or Die” SVG (optional)

Steps:

Starting again in Cricut Design space, I uploaded my predesigned SVG files:

The “Bride or Die” SVG is for sale on my Etsy shop, link below, and I find that text is easier to manipulate in Illustrator than in design space but you could do it in either location. I just typed out the text and placed it how I wanted in Illustrator, expanded the objects, then exported the text as SVGs.

Here’s a video explaining how to weld the svg text so it cuts out as one image

Then, resize the objects to fit the cups, set the number of projects you want to cut, and go:

Once the vinyl is cut, it time to weed. I use a lint roller to collect any small pieces of vinyl as I weed. #hack

Then use your transfer tape to place your vinyl on the color changing cup on the front and back. And boom! Color changing party cups!

If you want to add a layer of security to your vinyl, you can use dishwasher safe Mod Podge to keep the vinyl secured to the cup while washing (or just tell your girls that these are hand wash only).

Bachelorette Party DIYs: Games!

February 8, 2021

It’s a new week and a new DIY for everyone. Now this one is a little different from the last few because it does not require you to have a Cricut. In fact, it only requires a good internet connection and a printer (with paper and ink, of course).

Bach party diys part 5Now what is a good bachelorette party with out a few games. I am going to show you the 2 games that I picked for my Bride, but there a ton more to choose from, so don’t feel stuck with these.

What you’ll need:

-cardstock (letter size)

-scissors/paper cutter

-color printer

Steps:

The game templates I got were from Stag & Hen. I’ve linked the files below:

drink if

They also have so many other options, so peruse as you please.

I had the ability to update the fonts to match my Bride’s bachelorette party theme because these PDFs are editable in Adobe Illustrator. You may also be able to edit if you have Adobe Reader for PDFs. (this is totally optional)

Then I printed cards on cardstock, 4 to a page.

I cut up the games using a paper cutter and then I placed them in the cutest bachelorette cups! Ready to drink, ready to party.

Bachelorette Party DIYs: Photo Booth Props

February 5, 2021

So far this has been my absolute favorite DIY using my Cricut. These bachelorette wine themed photo booth props turned out so cute!!

This also was my most time consuming project as of yet, but the final product is totally worth it. A few of the props I made came from the Cricut image library which I will use for the steps below, but the others I personally made and converted to SVGs and these are on sale now in my Esty shop! (My personal fav are those bride glasses!)

What you’ll need:

-a whole lot of cardstock in multiple colors and textures (I used gold glitter, copper foil, white, pink, and maroon)

-wooden skewer sticks

-hot glue/gun

Steps:

The steps to complete are relatively simply: cut the shapes and glue. But I’ll go into detail and show you how I troubleshot some of the issues I had while making these.

So as always, Start in Cricut design space. I uploaded my premade images first:

weld image

When you first import the SVG, there will be a few extra shapes that are all grouped together, you will need to click on the group and click “weld.”

Then, duplicate all of the speech bubble signs to create a background layer. After the layer is duplicated, hide all contours except for the outline of the speech bubble:

hide all contours

Then I set each layer as a different color so they would cut on different pieces of cardstock.

speech bubles

Then I went to the Cricut image library and found additional images like lips, heart glasses and a mustache.

all photo booth props

And cut!

Once all the pieces were cut, then you can begin gluing. I used hot glue to attach the skewer to the back of each prop. I also used hot glue when gluing any layers to the glitter cardstock. Then for any regular cardstock layers, I was able to use a regular glue stick.

Ta da!
