Bachelorette Party DIYs: The Party!

September 12, 2021

The past 8 months of planning and DIYs have come together to create the perfect bachelorette weekend for my bff bride and her closest friends.

The bride and 4 of her bridesmaids live in Florida, but she wanted a Texas bachelorette party filled with wine, two-stepping, and southern hospitality. So that is what I gave her…

The Location

Fredericksburg, TX

Historic Fredericksburg is located in the beautiful Texas hill country. It is unique with German flavor in its quaint bakeries, Main Street Boutiques and generations-old peach orchards. This area is also home to one of the countries largest viticultural areas, making it a girl’s trip destination for the 100s of wineries open to the public.

If you want learn more about Fredericksburg or plan a trip, check out this site. They have the best info and the cutest blog. A lot of my vendors came from this site.

Where We Stayed

We stayed at the perfect airbnb for our group of 8. It was ½ a mile from Main Street, the perfect amount of private and still close enough to town for meals and shopping. It has a pool and a hot tub and the perfect set up for a bachelorette party.

What We Did

I am a type A personality and proud of it, but because of that, I had nearly every second of the weekend planned, so I’m just going to give you a brief overview as well as the cute Itinerary I made.

Day One

First, I picked up the Florida girls from the Austin Airport (Austin is about 1 hr 30mins from Fredericksburg, San Antonio airport is about 1 hr away). The bride’s lunch request was Torchy’s Tacos, so we went straight there. The diablo sauce was a little too spicy for their Florida palettes but the tacos were a hit!

Then we made the hour and half drive into Fredericksburg. Once on Main Street, I dropped the girls off to do some shopping while I met up with the 2 other Texas girls at the Airbnb. We gave ourselves an hour and a half to decorate the house and get it ready for the bride’s arrival and here’s how it turned out:

DIY Tassel Photo Booth Backdrop with Yee Haw Bitches balloons
Bachelorette Party customized and individualized reusable gift bags for favors
DIY individualized charcuterie cups for each person as a welcome gift
Custom Bachelorette Party cookies from Nann’s Cupcake Kitchen
Drink Fountain set up for Bride’s Arrival
Bride Balloons for Bachelorette Party

For dinner, we all got dressed up in our cow print and fringe for Western Theme Night. We ate at Western Edge Kitchen and Cocktails. Highly recommend their Mango Jalapeño Margarita and Mediterranean Salmon Salad!

After dinner, we walked across the street to Crossroads Steakhouse and Bar to get our country dancing on. Unfortunately, there was a 90s cover band playing but we still had a good time. The bride got to show off her custom denim jacket and cowboy hat.

Day 2

We had a bit of a schedule to follow for day 2 so we were up early for breakfast at Squeeze In. I called ahead to get our party on the waitlist since it was a large group and it was perfect because our table was ready and waiting when we got there.

The main event for the day/weekend was the private wine tour! I booked the tour through Texas Tipsy Tours and they were super accommodating and easy to communicate with. Included with the tour purchase was a Mercedes Sprinter van, private driver, reservations made at each winery, and complimentary (needed) waters.

The tour picked us up from our airbnb and our first stop was Augusta Vin Winery:

Here we got a 5 wine tasting. The service is slower so we were given more time here, but our tables was outside in the Texas heat so extra time was not really something we wanted. The wine was good and it was a beautiful first stop.

Next on the tour was Baron’s Creek Vineyards. This was the perfect second stop. We were. Seated in one of their newer tasting rooms with air conditioning! This was another 5 wine tasting, but since the place was crowded and service was a little slow, we got a bottle of Rosé and a charcuterie plate for the table. The outdoor area of this winery was perfect for (drunken) pictures

Last stop on the tour was Fat Ass Ranch & Winery. This is the quintessential last stop for any girl’s trip wine tour. They specialize in sweet wine. There are typically food trucks and live music and their frozen wine cocktails are the perfect finale to the day. You might even spot a living donkey mascot from the parking lot.

After the wine tour, we rallied at the house to go back out to dinner at Tubby’s Ice House. Our theme for night two was the classic all black and bride in white. We had the best meal for after a day of drinking and the best service at Tubby’s.

Day Three

Our last day in Fredericksburg was much more chill. The theme for the day was “Dress like the Fiancé,” so I bought and made everyone custom fishing shirts (since the bride’s Fiancé works on fishing charters). Then we paired those with jean shorts and Fiancé face tattoos.

We went to brunch in the morning at Sunset grill. Their boozy cold brew and the Sunrise Rita were the perfect hair of the dog for a morning after drinking. I recommend joining the waitlist through Google before going. They don’t text you a confirmation like it says but they text when your table is ready.

After brunch, we went back to the house and prepped for a pool party day. We blew up a bunch of pool floats, set up party pong by the pool, and made cocktails. As a last surprise for the bride, we filled a rose piñata with shooters and beaded alcohol earrings as take home gifts.

This was a perfect recovery day from the weekend. An alternative for anyone who might not have partied to hard on the wine day is to float the river (a Texas summer staple). Medina River Company is about 45 mins away from Fredericksburg and from there you can rent tubes and they will drop you off and pick you up at the Medina river.

For our last dinner in Fredericksburg, we made our way over to Social Haus for “the best pizza in Fredericksburg.” We also cleared out their dessert fridge trying everything on the menu.
